The study limits for this project are along I-95 from south of Davie Boulevard to south of Sunrise Boulevard and on Broward Boulevard from west of SW 24 Avenue to east of NW/SW 18 Avenue Broward County, Florida.
What is a PD&E Study?
A Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study is an environmental and engineering process that was developed by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), in response to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. The PD&E study process ensures that transportation projects are developed with consideration of current engineering standards, project costs, and minimization of social and environmental impacts, while involving the public throughout the entire study process.
What is the objective of the study?
The overall goal of this study is to develop three viable alternatives and alignments to increase the level of service of the interchange and adjacent intersections, enhance system linkage and modal interrelationships at I-95 and Broward Boulevard, reduce congestion, and increase safety at the interchange through the 2040 design year horizon. The study will be compatible with the 95 Express Lane Improvements Phase 3 and will evaluate comprehensive improvements to the surrounding multimodal facilities.
